Chicken Camps - just the right education for people who train or own animals
How can chickens help you become a better trainer?
Over decades, Bob Bailey developed this training concept with diverse animal species. He found chickens to be the ideal training partners. After all, these seminars are meant to teach people, not animals. With chickens, everybody can train in an optimal way and apply learning theories to hands-on training under laboratory conditions. Chickens cannot be influenced by body language or dominance. A chicken threatened will just stop to work. All the more important it is to skillfully master the use of the marker, food and the perpetually growing body of one's knowledge. Furthermore, a quick succession of repetitions is possible which again schools your eye and your own speed concerning „think-plan-do“.
Last, but not least, training an animal other than your own who you will feel more connected to will prove beneficial to your own learning. Thus, you will be able to experience freely, as for the chicken whatever she has learned will not be of any importance in her everyday life. Therefore you can totally stress-free deal with your own training challenges (by some called „mistakes“). You will surely make some, which is totally normal and no big thing but then you'd rather have them happen while training a chicken, not your own dog, horse, canary, lion, ape, goat and so on.
Lion? Monkey? Yes, for aside from interested owners of horses and dogs, there are also professional trainers from zoos among our clients, even some who work with primates. So it is truly useful for everybody to train chickens!
