Module 4: Criteria in Training
The more distinct the criteria are set and maintained in training, the easier the animal can identify the profitable behaviour.
In module 4, the focus is all on criteria, the content of the single steps in training. They are among the three pillars of good training and are highly relevant to assure its success. Criteria should be chosen so that your animal will be successful four out of five times. Raise them when this is achieved reliably. Whenever the impression of stagnation arises, a look at our criteria is worthwhile. The crux can often be found there. This makes it crucial for you to learn if your task is either too easy or too hard and then adjust criteria accordingly.
In the theoretical units, we will also talk about the influence of the mass we have on behaviour, the amount of reinforcers given for it. Then, we will highlight the diverse strategies to get duration.
As always, it all circles around you being able to transfer the theoretical input into practice thus adding it to your proven knowledge through your own experiences.
